I've been thinking over the weekend about my trusty vacuum flask and how I've been complaining about constantly dropping it. It works very effectively, is easy to clean and has a 'cute' design (in the words of a classmate). But when it's not in my bag or jacket pocket it inevitably ends up on the floor because it's a cylindrical shape and is made from polished metal. I have an idea of how to improve it - I want to design a removable handle that can 'lock' on to the side of the flask, it'll slot into a built in bit of plastic. However, I can't drill a hole and screw it in so it would have to be glued on...and where will I get a hard enough but malleable plastic from (maybe I should start saving up to do some 3D printing)? So in the meantime I think a better idea might be to wrap some 'grippy' material around the flask so it's less likely to slide.
